Dear all,

This is just to let you know that we are advertising for a zooarchaeology Research Associate (part time 18 hours per week for 12 months), to work on a project to develop a digital fish reference collection and on-line training resource. The project does not start until February (I will circulate more details to everyone then) but, in brief, it is funded by the AHRC's Collaborative Training Scheme and so a wide range of UK-based individuals and institutions - e.g. English Heritage, Natural History Museum, units and universities - are involved. Importantly, the project is being steered by fish specialists, so the Research Associate will have access to high-level expertise.

Essentially the post will entail visiting physical collections and taking lots of high-resolution images of fish bones but the job will also involve the creation of an e-learning resource, which will result from 4 post-graduate training workshops (further details on the workshops to follow).

The job should soon be advertised on jobs.ac.uk (it doesn't seem to be there at the moment) but details are currently available at:

 http://jobs.nottingham.ac.uk/arts37

Can you circulate this to anyone you think might be interested - feel free to email if you want more info.

All the best, Naomi
