Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR)

The Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR) is one of the world’s
foremost centres for research, teaching and consulting activities in
acoustics. At the ISVR we are working with colleagues at the University of
Salford and the artist Luke Jerram on an exciting project to engage the
public with the science of acoustics. Aeolus, is a specially designed
architectural space designed to resonate and sing with the wind.

We are seeking to appoint a Project Coordinator to work with Luke Jerram
(www.lukejerram.com) and the University team.  Your main duties will be to
research potential venues, negotiate with potential partner organisations,
and subsequently to coordinate up to four installations of a substantial
semi-permanent sculptural work in public spaces.

You should be educated at least to NVQ3/ A-Levels / City and Guilds (or
equivalent ) and preferably to degree level, or have equivalent relevant
experience.  You should be able to demonstrate a strong track record of
working effectively with a wide range of arts organisations and you must be
able to work both independently and in a team.  Experience of, or a
demonstrable interest in, arts/science crossover projects or public
engagement with science will be advantageous.

The position is available from 1 April 2010 and will be on a part time
(60%), 21 month fixed term basis. There may be some flexibility in terms of
the working hours at the appointment stage, however this will have to be in
line with the requirements of the project and in agreement with the project
manager.
