The MFA thing looks more like education as a saleable commodity, hence knowledge need not be true, since truth can't sold. (There is a logic here, basically it will contradict.) A lot of academic debates take the form of protecting an investment in knowledge as a commodity in recent times and it would be true the US grad education lead the way.
