Sara has completed a PhD in Epidemiology and is a Midwife Practitioner and Registered Nurse, and completed an MSc in Reproductive & Sexual Health Research at LSHTM in 2000. Sara’s PhD research in Botswana included qualitative and quantitative work examining factors related to antiretroviral therapy adherence and antiretroviral therapy failure. Professional experience includes: clinical midwifery and nursing practice in London; humanitarian relief (primary and secondary health care and disease control projects) in Afghanistan, Congo-DRC, Kenya, Southern Sudan and Liberia; development experience working with DFID/UNAIDS in Cambodia (strategic planning and coordination at government & policy level); and conducting evaluations for multi-lateral, unilateral and non-governmental organisations in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
