What is this all about?
Due to forthcoming
proposed changes in legislation, we have revised and updated our
existing guidance on hydrogeological risk assessment for landfills (first
published February 2003). We are running a 12-week external
consultation and are contacting you, as representatives
of relevant organisations, to request views and comments. If
you feel you are not in a position to comment then please delete this email.

has changed?
This guidance explains
our requirements for groundwater risk assessment and the setting of groundwater
control and trigger levels. The update has mainly focused on ensuring
that landfill risk assessments will meet the requirements of the Environmental
Permitting Regulations (2010), which are expected to go live in April 2010.
