Hello Amanda. I would have loved to come and make masks, but
really can’t square the time with my teaching commitments at UH! I hope the
course goes really well. Please give my best wishes to Steve and anyone else
who remembers me.

MASK WORKSHOP 2010 15th - 18th January
After a highly successful workshop in 2009, Steve is back
from Loose Moose Theatre in Canada to run another mask workshop. This time we
will make our own masks as well as spending time workshopping with masks and
props and costumes and developing mask characters. Masks that participants make
will be theirs to keep at the end of the workshop.
This will be a four day workshop running from Friday 15th January 2010 until
Monday 18th. We will start at 10am each day and aim to finish by 5pm.
Accommodation is available at the venue and will need to be booked separately.
For further information or to book for the workshop call Amanda on 07786436845
or emailing [log in to unmask].
The cost for the four days is £260 and the concessionary rate is £220 (unwaged,
student, OAP, Equity).
A deposit of £100 is required to book a place in the first instance. Places are
limited so early booking is recommended.
Payment by cheque, PayPal or bank transfer.
Venue: Loudwater Farm, Loudwater Lane, Rickmansworth, Herts WD3 1BD

ABOUT STEVE JARAND:
In 1987 I stumbled onto improvisation at Loose Moose Theatre.
Spontaneity and accepting made sense to me and I was excited to break rules and
to "make it up as I go". My responsible side, however, said "go
back to school". So I spent four years completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts
at the University of Calgary. Keith Johnstone taught me acting there and
directed me in The Caucasian Chalk Circle.
From
tribal dances in Africa and performances in India to my own creations here at
home, masks continue to teach me a great deal about, spontaneity, accepting and
exploring myself.
