Mike, We use pretty the much same environment but went from 7.2 to 9...as stated at the last LBUG the early adopters have found most of the big problems and they have been solved by collaboration with BB. The only slight 'hangover' for us was the performance of the JVM. BB9 has been operating at an average of 99.8 against our SLA of 99.7 since the upgrade in May 09... If you go to the address; http://connections.blackboard.com/groups/b9d67b1ade/summary You will see our report (LSBU) plus Teesside, Northampton etc Regards Jim Jim Nottingham Deputy Director of ICT London Southbank University On Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at 02:30PM, "Mike Weaver" <[log in to unmask]> wrote: >
Dear all
We?re evaluating the case to upgrade from version 8 to
9 over the coming months, ready for the start of AY 10-11.
We?re currently running Blackboard Learn (Course
Delivery, Community Engagement and Content Management) version 8.0.422.7 using
an Oracle database server and load-balanced application servers all running on Red
Hat Linux within a virtualised (VMware ESX) environment.
Have any of you made a similar transition in recent months
and, if so, would you be willing to share any lessons learned as well as advising
us of any Known Issues you have been working around since upgrading?
Many thanks
Mike
