APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING

Dear colleague

You may be interested to note that HEFCE has published a guidance report into the key outcomes of the review of its policy as it relates to disabled students. It provides an overview of the progress the sector has made during the past decade and highlights areas for development.

The document also presents HEFCE’s future policy and strategy for the sector in meeting the entitlements of disabled students, and sets out good practice for institutions. The outcomes report can be read via http://www.hefce.ac.uk/pubs/hefce/2009/09_49/

To address the key challenges, ECU is developing specific projects and will be looking to continue to work with HEFCE, HE institutions and key partners. Details on some of these projects will be available shortly in the ECU Programme for 2010.

Kind regards

Stuart Moore
