Why install glite-info-provider-ldap? Is this CE your site-bdii as well? 
YaimGuide400#The_configuration_variables mentions glite-info-provider-ldap 
in connection with "When the BDII is installed together with the lcg 
CE,...."

Hmm, all our CE have that as an exectuable file.

Hmm, that link already exists on all our CE (new+old).

Yeah, it seems to work despite oddities.
