Postdoctoral position in computational surface science at the University of Helsinki, Finland A postdoctoral position is available in the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry for up to two years starting January 1st 2010. The salary is 3000 - 3400 euro per month depending on the experience. The successful candidate is expected to carry out computational research in the field of surface science including nanoscience. We are particularly interested in metal clusters on semiconductor surfaces and molecules adsorbed on catalytic metal surfaces. For our work of nanoscience and surface chemistry relevance see J. Phys. The Helsinki computational chemistry/molecular spectroscopy group has excellent computational and experimental facilities, and is part of the Finnish Center of Excellence in Computational Molecular Science. The research group consists of about 10 people. Our laboratory is located in the Chemistry Department building in the new Kumpula science campus area. Helsinki, being the capital of Finland, is a vibrant city that offers many cultural events all year round.
