Dear John, An Indian student tells me that "bijli" is now used routinely for "electricity" in India, and there was a Cyclone Bijli back in April, which was laying down two inches a day of rain on his home village. Kipling's original title was, of course, "lightnings": plural, as you have it. Best regards, John
