I don’t think it’s designed to be an entirely serious science documentary. For my money, I loved it. I don’t think science is “special” and should be always covered with full reverence, I think it should be explored and discussed and joked about in a cultural context. Making science and critical thinking part of our normal culture is something to aspire to...

Bring back Science Now and Peter Evans - quality magazine programme that was actually about science - intelligent speech radio at its best.

Hi Mike,
I am sure it is aimed at what I might class as a 'Ben Goldacre' audience. I believe it may get a little more serious as the series progresses... but not much. I'd describe it as a science-based culture/ entertainment show - it certainly made me laugh out loud on a couple of occassions.

Oh dear. I thought it was utter b*ll*cks.
I had really high hopes. The Radio 4 science slots need “refreshing”. But this filled me with gloom.
Maybe they are chasing the teenage audience, not that I am accusing you of being quite that young Tim.

Hi all
Any views on The Infinite Monkey Cage Radio 4 show yesterday pm?
Got to say I thought it was excellent. Robin Ince, Brian Cox, Dara O'Briain and Alice Roberts were all really good - and just the sort of cultural panel chat I was imagining when I came back from the Latitude Festival in the summer for a science-based thread there. I wonder if they are thinking of going on tour next summer?
