Dear Colleagues,

Centre for Law, Justice & Journalism (CLJJ)

Journalism as a Human Right

Professor John Hartley

Wednesday 9th December 4pm

City University

Social Sciences Building Room DLG08

All welcome

In this talk John Hartley proposes that journalism should not be seen as a professional practice but as a human right. Everyone has the right to impart as well as receive information, and to publish as well as hold opinions. What might this mean for journalists ... and for the rest of the population?

Professor John Hartley, AM, is ARC Federation Fellow and Research Director, ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries & Innovation; Distinguished Professor, Queensland University of Technology; Adjunct Professor, Australian National University; Visiting Professor, City University London; Editor, International Journal of Cultural Studies
