Count me in, I am really furious about this. Promoting languages
shouldn't be distinguished by what schools they are. We should raise the
issues to the organiser. 

 

Similar case in the HSBC and British run Mandarin Speaking Competition,
eventually they welcome students from independent schools joining.

BUT only teachers in state specialist schools can enter.

 

I tried to enter for my school and was told -no private schools. I
complained as I am of the opinion that this is discrimination as our
parents pay taxes that go to fund government departments that run these
competitions. I was curtly rebuffed.

 

When I have some time I plan to take this issue further. If others have
views on this please let me know.
