As many of you are aware, we are in the midst of executing the NEJM social media marketing strategy, which includes developing a presence on a selection of high-traffic social media sites. 

 

A few months ago NEJM launched a Facebook page aimed at medical students, residents and trainees, and a Twitter feed focused on health care reform.  Now, we have a YouTube Channel, http://www.youtube.com/NEJMvideo, where we are posting a selection of videos including Perspective Roundtables, procedural and clinical videos.  (We not loading Videos in Clinical Medicine.) We are uploading three or four older videos per week through the end of December to build up an inventory on the site.  At this time, there are 17 videos available for viewing.  In 2010, we will continue to add new videos as they are published, when they are not behind the subscription firewall. 

 

Please take a look at the site and sign up as a subscriber.  The more people who sign up, the faster the news will spread that NEJM has video content on YouTube.  YouTube is one of the internet’s top four or five search engines, so this offers our users another path to NEJM content and our highly respected brand.  If you are a blogger, please feel free to link to or embed videos in your blog.
