At Lincolnshire Archives we are currently reviewing what items we do and do not allow the public to take into our Search Room, in particular notepads. Hitherto, for security reasons, we have only allowed them to take in small notepads or a few sheets of A4 on a clipboard, and not files or large notebooks. We are aware that we are probably in a small minority in this respect, but are there any other offices out there that ban large A4 pads, notebooks and/or folders? All replies appreciated.
