In the public sector we have a poor track record in employing people with
learning disabilities in our workforce. That is why the Improvement and
Development Agency (IDeA), learning disability arts organisation Heart n Soul
and the Department of Health (DH) invite you to ‘Real Roles Live’.
It is a free, one-day conference at the Kings Fund, London.
There are 1.5 million people in the UK with a learning disability, but only
7.5 per cent of those of working age have a job. Most of these are in part-time
roles, paid at the lower permitted work earnings rate of £20 per week.
