Dear Bruce,
Ffynnon Elian is just inland from the North Wales coastline, behind Colwyn Bay and within easy striking distance of Snowdon, a 40 minute drive away - but not in the designated park area. Is that near enough?
We very much want to 'restore' Ffynnon Elian and make it's fascinating history better known, and to that end there have been a couple of weekend digs here, one under CPAT (Clwyd and Powys Archaeological Trust) and one with the local Hist. Soc. Nothing too amazing found yet, but it's quite a large site, that once contained a bathing pool, pathways, a fountain, the well itself, the guardian's cottage and various gates and pathways.
Have written to Time Team once, perhaps time to write again!
Thanks for getting in touch,
Jane

Is Ffynnon Elian in the Snowdonia National Park? We run
britishnationalparks.com and are always interested in featuring topographical locations and their authoritative text.

I've just submitted an MA thesis to the History Dept. in Bangor on Ffynnon Elian in North Wales - examining its history and reputation. Part of my research work looked at the evidence for cursing, and checked the references from Francis Jones; among others more or less beginning with Pennant. I'd be happy to share my research and good luck with yours -
Jane Beckerman.

Im researching Witchcraft in Wales and presenting soon on Cursing wells. Ive got seemingly a disporoportionate amount of evidence for this practice in the north and a lot less in South Wales, does this reflect reality or am I missing something? Any ideas?
