Dear Tony Cogratulations on this year's yield of courageous graduates. Please send them my heartfelt warmth and respect. They have heard many wise words via Phoenix House Haga and via the congratulatory emails from around the world. Speaking as an old timer, let me tell you about when I graduated and left Phoenix House London - I was giving the most beautifully decorated cake to take with unfortunately it was practically inedible. I used it for a door stop for quite a while and then sometimes when I didn't have any money I would whittle a little off to eat. That cake kept me going with the spirit of the Kitchen Department and Phoenix for a whole year.I worked out OK in the end. "You don't drugs anymore you don't drink" an old friend said "what do you do for fun?"
