This a reminder that there are two ongoing fMRI and MultiModal
training courses offered in 2010 at the Martinos Center for Biomedical
Imaging.
fMRIVFP:
The Functional MRI Visiting Fellowship Program (fMRIVFP) is a 5
day workshop that emphasizes all aspects of designing and running an
fMRI-based experiment. It should be noted that detailed training
on any one software package (SPM8 or otherwise) is NOT a part of this
program. Topics covered include MR physics, experimental design,
theoretical and practical issues in data analysis, extensive
discussion time on the design of actual in-class and out-of-class
experiments. The fMRIVFP was started in October of 1994 and has
been held at the Martinos Center in various forms more than 50 times
since then.
The emphasis is on the design of fMRI-based experiments.
Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration fees apply.

MMSC:
The Multi-Modal Short Course is a 12-day (two week) workshop that
introduces participants to many modes of functional brain imaging,
with an emphasis on fMRI, EEG, MEG, NIRS, and TMS, but including
discussions of DTI, DSI, MRS, PET, SPECT, implanted electrodes and
high-resolution high-field MR. The workshop traditionally
includes some training in FreeSurfer, but that is not central to the
main theme, which is exposure and some practice with the array of
functional brain imaging tools currently available.
This program is funded by an NIH grant. There is only
nominal tuition, but travel and accommodation expenses are born by the
participants.
Admission is competitive. Application deadline is February
28, 2010. Notification of application status is made by March
15, 2010.
