Hi John – I hate to be curmudgeonly but suggest you talk to an RM/SharePoint specialist – can highly recommend Cerys Hearsey of www.metataxis.com<http://www.metataxis.com> who has made a particular study of these very issues. She is speaking at a training event run by Interactive Business Events in Birmingham very soon and Sheffield next February.

Good luck – from my experience none of what you want is at all easy in SharePoint 2007.

Subject: Re sharepoint, fileplans and records management and document management centres

Dear all

I would be grateful of any examples regarding fileplans and how these fileplans have been technically embedded into sharepoint.

We more than likely will be using level one and possibly two of the local govt classification scheme (lgcs) and then base retention as outlined within the scheme when viewed via esd.

We more than likely will also be using ads to manage access from level one, but that lower levels (user permissions) would be managed within sharepoint.

Are other fire and rescue services/ councils adopting or have adopted who are also using sharepoint. ??

Has anyone also got any advice re how sharepoint handles a document which then becomes a declared record? I assume this has to be within the document library as well as declared within the records management centre. I am assessing microsoft.com (technet) but any information would be appreciated from public/private sector organisations for any free advice/information.

Looking forward to any emails/ guidance/ documents on these points.
Kind regards
