Tracy
I just leave my name and a telephone number - no other information.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Telephone message confidentiality

When you phone a client for further information from a Pre employment questionnaire do you have a protocol for:
1) If the answerphone message does not identify name and number?
2) if a (?) relative answers and asked why you are calling?
3) do you leave your name and number only, or do you leave your department details?

The reason this has come up again, is due to a complaint from a client who did not want their spouse to know they were changing jobs, and was mortified to have a message from occupational health on her answerphone.

Previously, we have had issues relating to staff leaving messages about the information they actually wanted - this practice has now been stopped.

I would be interested to hear views and other practices undertaken.

Many thanks,
