Hi Val I lead a large midwifery research group in Newcastle upon Tyne. The group conduct clinical research (supporting others) as well as leading on their own midwifery research projects. Hello everyone, You are all my first port of call for information on the above prior to LSA and NMC again. I am a Research Midwife at a University Institution doing a PhD. I am not practicing clinically and am not employed by a Healthcare trust. I will be interviewing women in the course of my research. I know I will need to remain on the NMC register. I have been given conflicting advice whether I need to submit ITP. Especially with what is defined as 'practice'. Do midwifery lecturers in academic institutions who don't work in clinical practice complete this and have a Midwifery Supervisor. Are there any other Midwifery Students like myself that have any information on this. This is a grey area.
