medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
William J. Purkis, Crusading Spirituality in the Holy Land and Iberia, c.1095-c.1187 (Woodbridge: Boydell Press, 2008) has a little and some notes and suggests that the principal relic was the Holy Land itself. -- Paul Chandler

I am hoping the list can offer some suggestions for a student of mine. He wants to write his term paper for my crusades course on the role of relics in crusading. I've checked my usual go-to source (Paul Halsall's excellent bibliography), and found only one reference, an article about the True Cross. Does anyone know of any other works I could point my student toward?
