medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Heavens, how I love this list! You are all so generous. So willing to jump
in and help.

From the editor of the Corpus Benedictionum Pontificalium (which was my
starting point), the text is from a 10th century sacramentary - though the
ultimate source maybe Gregory.

The meaning seems to rely on the meaning of dispensatio. Blaise patristic
offers: 4. économie (oikonomia~g), plan de Dieu sur le monde, dessein divin
du salut et sa réalisation dans l'histoire:

I'm not sure - Jim - what makes you think this is the bosom of Abraham (I
just don't understand your logic between one text and the next). If it is,
that would be great, since what I'm actually trying to do is figure out some
of the pre-history of some crusade rites. I will have to dig up my
LeGoff....

thanks thanks thanks!
