Good afternoon list
I’ve been tasked with putting together a document
setting out the basic costs of providing library services to users; I have to
state the monetary costs as well as the time costs. For example, how much does it
cost to carry out a literature search in man hours or how much does it cost to
handle an ILL book from the time the user requests it to the time the user
picks it up. I am factoring in our library membership of bodies such as the BMA
or the British Library and the costs to us in requesting loans and such.
Have any colleagues developed such a document? Any pointers
would be of enormous help.
