Cambridge University Library is seeking to appoint a Project Manager and 
Project Officer for the Incremental Project, funded by JISC under its 
Research Data Programme, to inform and improve research data curation 
practice.  Cambridge University Library will lead the project, which is 
a collaboration with the University of Glasgow. Both are temporary posts 
available until 31 March 2011.

Project Manager - Grade 7, £27,183 - 35,469 pa

Coordinating a team of three, the appointee will be responsible for 
day-to-day management of the project, will undertake research to analyse 
data management requirements within departments and research groups, and 
will lead the implementation of appropriate data management solutions. 
Applicants should have a good honours degree, preferably with research 
experience or a postgraduate qualification, and possess project 
management skills. They should be familiar with data repositories and 
research methods in the sciences or social sciences and have an interest 
in data curation.

Project Officer - Grade 6, £25,623 - £29,704 pa

The project officer will work within a team of three full-time staff to 
identify requirements for the management of data created by researchers 
within the Universities of Cambridge and Glasgow and deploy a pilot data 
management infrastructure to address their needs. He or she will 
undertake research to identify requirements in selected departments and 
research groups, build on previous studies, both qualitative and 
quantitative, and with the project manager will lead the implementation 
of an appropriate data management solution, including training for 
researchers.  The project officer will also contribute to specification 
of development of the DSpace@Cambridge repository technical 
infrastructure to meet researchers requirements.
