My client is one of the UK’s fastest growing providers of geospatial software technology solutions.  From their UK base they operate a network of partners and wholly-owned country operations giving them a global presence.  Continuing growth in sales of their web-based GIS products and services has created a new opening for a commercially-oriented software specialist with solid experience of client and server side web applications development.  Although experience of GIS would be an advantage it is not an essential requirement but the ability or willingness to be security cleared is essential.  They are a major driver of open systems computing so they are particularly attracted to individuals with experience of open source tools.

 

 

The main duties & responsibilities are to:-

 

       Develop mapping applications using .net-based productivity tools.

       Integrate application development with mapping software.

       Build robust well documented software

 

Please apply if your CV shows:-

 

       Upwards of 2 years experience in web-hosted application development, including current web technologies and platforms.

       Practical experience of integrating multiple applications and datasets.

       Fundamental experience and enjoyment of application programming and IT in general.

       Experience of working within the .Net framework and associated tools.

       Database integration skills ideally using SQL Server or Oracle

 

This is not a backroom job and candidates should be comfortable with some on site working and occasional need to travel
