Location: Chelmsford, Essex Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 pa dependent on experience Global Marine Systems is a diversified marine technology and engineering company, specialising in both the maintenance/installation of submarine telecom cables and the provision of installation services to the Oil and Gas, Renewable Energy and Power cable sectors. An excellent opportunity has arisen to join us as a Cable Route Engineer, designing cable routes which mitigate risks and determining how to best ensure the cable system’s security. This will include the production of technical studies which quantify potential risks to future cable systems and commissioning / managing marine cable route surveys. The successful candidate will have worked in either route engineering, survey management and/or marine cable operations before and be able to demonstrate their attention to detail and logical approach, as well as computer literacy (with experience of technical software programmes) and their ability to learn new skills with a keenness to develop. In addition candidates with experience of GIS (Intergraph GeoMedia) software (or equivalent),managing survey related budgets/contracts and customer liaison will be at an advantage.
