Dear all,

The Learning Outside the Classroom Heritage Sector Partnership (HSP) has been funded by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom to develop some materials for teachers to help them make the most of learning opportunities in heritage settings.

There is some very basic, introductory guidance for teachers in the LOtC Out & About package - http://www.lotc.org.uk/Out-and-about-guidance/How-do-we-organise-learning/Framework-for-planning-LOtC-experiences/Where-and-when/Heritage-sites

But we would like to add to this resource focusing on particular areas of value to teachers. For example:

* The benefits and practicalities of learning in certain (under-used) settings i.e. archives, libraries etc.

* How heritage learning can support the changing curriculum - EYFS, primary, secondary (diplomas etc)

* Learning about local history - using the local environment

* Skills-based learning in heritage settings

There are probably many other topics we should be considering.

If you are a teacher or have worked closely with teachers, we would be interested in your thoughts and suggestions for developing, expanding and prioritising this list? What resources would help teachers make the most of heritage settings?

Please send your suggestions to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. If you have any queries, please contact Fenella Hunt on 01634 853 424.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Fenella Hunt
