Hi everyone,

Myself and colleagues within the School of Education at Trinity College
Dublin are conducting funded research for the National Council for Special
Education (see http://www.ncse.ie):

(i) A three year longitudinal research project, which aims to carry out the
most in-depth study of special and inclusive education ever conducted in
Ireland (see http://www.projectiris.org/).

(ii) A study exploring 'transition' issues for students with SEN moving from
secondary school to FE / HE. The research will be over the next 18mths and
will explore, via multi-methods, the barriers and facilitatory factors
involved in the transition process. The outcomes are to help increase the
number of students with SEN successfully transferring to FE / HE.

With this in mind, is there any particular research / policy / practice /
issues / solutions / barriers / suggestions etc that you think we should be
concerned with ??

I am coordinating the 'transitions' project and would be delighted to
receive all comments / suggestions off list ([log in to unmask]).

Thanks,

Conor Mc Guckin
