Preparations are well in hand for the 2nd Annual
Australian Cycling Conference to be staged here in Adelaide Monday 18th
and Tuesday 19th January 2010. The latest draft program and the
registration form are available from the conference web site (www.hubtt.com.au/australiancyclingconference.htm)
where you will also find details of our latest sponsors:
Bicycle Institute of SA (www.bisa.asn.au/)
City of Charles Sturt (www.charlessturt.sa.gov.au/site/page.cfm)
Taylor and Francis, Publishers, UK (www.taylorandfrancisgroup.com/)
Adelaide City Council (www.adelaidecitycouncil.com/home.html)
Hub Traffic and Transport (www.hubtt.com.au)
As the conference is being held at the time of Australia’s
premier cycle race, the Tour Down Under, there are opportunities for the general
public to get out on bikes and ride in various events.
The conference organisers were intending to organise a bike ride
for delegates and friends on Sunday 17 January but it just so happens that a
bike ride for a good cause or two (the Women’s and Children’s Hospital
Foundation and the Neurological Research Foundation) has been organised for
that very day. No sense doubling up so here is the gen.
Ride Like Crazy (www.ridelikecrazy.com/) is
supported by the SA Police and is named after Senior Sergeant Mick “Crazy”
Koerner of the SA Police STAR Group. Register before 30th November and
receive a Ride Like Crazy jersey or polo shirt.
See the web site for times, the route, costs, support etc.
If you would like to participate but do not have (or more likely
are not bringing with you) a bike, contact Bicycle SA (www.bikesa.asn.au/) who
will be able to steer you in the right direction.
More updates coming and of course if you have any queries about
the conference...
