Thanks to everyone for updating me on this topic. In fact I also later found that my Coot installation (as well as pymol) has a Zalman stereo option under stereo. In fact what I was wondering if I need any special driver for the Zalman monitor under linux. Thanks Paul, for your tweaking suggestions to make things better. I would definitely try them once I get my monitor. Anyway, once my monitor arrives I might have more questions to ask. Thanks again to all, Ajit B. ----- Original Message ----- From: Paul Emsley <[log in to unmask]> Date: Wednesday, November 4, 2009 2:09 pm Subject: Re: [ccp4bb] Zalman monitor on Linux and Coot To: [log in to unmask] > I should add that I have only seen Joel Bard's Zalman monitor briefly. > > We tweaked the settings a bit to improve the representation in the > following way: > > 1) use nvidia-settings to override application anti-aliasing - crank > it > up to 16x if you have a good graphics card > > 2) add to ~/.coot file (or otherwise initialise coot with): > (set-map-line-width 2) > > After that, it looked quite good (I thought). > > For the record, I do not think that Coot questions are off-topic on > ccp4bb.
