Experienced in statistical genetics? Then why not use that expertise to help us deliver innovative and effective medicines?

About the role
This role will see you joining a specialist team of statistical geneticists at Alderley Park - one of our major research facilities. Using state-of-the-art techniques, you'll develop our understanding of genetic variability and its impact on the drug discovery and development process. This will require you to support a wide variety of drug projects at different stages of the pipeline. Using your statistical genetics expertise, you'll help various colleagues across Research & Development with study design, protocol and analysis plan development. As well as carrying out hands-on programming and analysis, you'll play a key role in developing our methodological and technical processes within this field.

About you
The successful candidate will most likely have a higher degree (MSc/PhD) in statistical genetics, medical statistics or genetic epidemiology. You will certainly have a basic knowledge of genetics (including association analysis of SNP data) plus experience of applying statistics in the pharmaceutical industry or academia. Experience of working with genomic biomarker data, handling large and complex datasets, and carrying out experimental design would all be real advantages.
