I'm PhD in English Literature, using this list for the first time. I'm writing an article on the psychogeographer, poet and novelist, Iain Sinclair, and I'm looking for Human Geography and Urban Geography resources on issues regarding Hackney, the City of London, and the new site for the 2012 London Olympics. I'm registering with UCLs Urban Pages and I am aware of this year's UCL Urban artscapes conference, and I am also contacting Leicester's Urban History group, but I thought this forum could help me locate any recent publications on spatial theory and London Olympics; public-private space Hackney/Olympic zone; 21st century psychogeography of London (particularly this area). Any further help (i.e readers, best first steps) on the following would also be gratefully received: how the form of state intervention changes the conceptualization of space (and how these change through the decades); security policies; how urban policy represents space/ is a space making practice; voices of inhabitants as resistance to government/statist geography. _______________________________________________________ [log in to unmask] An urban geography discussion and announcement forum List Archives: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/URB-GEOG-FORUM Maintained by: RGS-IBG Urban Geography Research Group UGRG Home Page: http://www.urban-geography.org.uk
