Are you or any others at your HEI using an e-portfolio system for a) staff PDP b) student PDP c) any other purpose?
Yes, we use the PebblePad ePortfolio system which is available insitution-wide for all staff and students, The ILE department ran a large P athfinder project which involved the use of PebblePAD for first year Personal Development Planning experience
There is a wide range of use of PebblePAD within the University; for example our Business School are using PebblePad for supervising/ monitoring 3rd level accredited placements, for collating and electronic evidence and resources are also being embedded and designed in to a new 20 credit module which will be a reflective piece on a project, and students will use a log/journal approach as part of the assessment. The ' action plan ' template within PebblePad is also widely used as this has a sound scaffolding to encourage reflection and planning for both short and long term projects.
The ePortfolio is fully supported; technically by our IT services and pedagogically by the Blended Learning Unit and is fully integrated in our Blended Learning Strategy (www.wlv.ac.uk/blu) .
We run a wide range of corporate staff development sessions (including webinars) which cover different functions within the software and also hold an annual eCelebration conference in which we encourage PebblePad users (amongst others) to share their eActivities.
