Policy
Hi Noushi,
I understand that OH can make a contribution in policy
making. But I need to ask a few question this is based on my experience in the
oil and gas exploration sector which puts safety on top.
What sector is this individual working in?This will be
useful
Kind regards
Patricia

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Alcohol
Policy
Hi List,
.I would appreciate some guidance on this scenario:
A manager finds an employee under the influence of alcohol.
Some of the employee’s tasks are safety critical. What should the manager do?
What can they do? What is within the legal framework? Without the use of a
breathalyzer how can the manager gather enough ( measurable)evidence to support
their decision to bar the employee from carrying out their job?
I am aware that this is a management issue; however in
devising the local Alcohol policy OH’s advice is being sought. Is there anyone
who is willing to share to their Alcohol policy that covers this aspect?
Thank you
N
