Hi Jacob

Your sincerity or integrity in creating the festival and the site are
not in question but as Claudia pointed out the thought processes or
motivations behind their creation are not so clear.

Maybe you'd like to explain here why you see Screendance as a 'genre
of dance' as opposed to, for example, a branch of media arts (or
artists film and video). Why you think inanimate objects form part of
your thinking in your definition and can you point to some examples of
this, and perhaps also maybe outline what are your curatorial
intentions and influences in general?

The more 'long in the tooth' amongst us translate "opportunities for
younger filmmakers" (or emerging artists for that matter) as a cheap
way of getting content from people who won't ask for a screening fee.
Maybe you can outline the breadth of the opportunity the festival is
offering as opposed to the 60 other international screendance/
videodance festivals putting out calls for entries every year? Or for
that matter just loading a video onto youtube / vimeo / blip / google
etc and promoting it that way?

These are interesting debating points for this list and it would be
great to hear your views and give you a strong platform to promote
your festival.

look forward to hearing your thoughts

best regards
s
