*** Save the date! Registration to open soon! *** The 6th annual UK Museums on the Web conference [UKMW09] will be held at the Sackler Centre in London on *Wednesday 2 December 2009* (9.30am-5.30pm). Convened by the Museums Computer Group, the conference theme this year is 'The everyday web: situated, sensory, social'. *** One day - two must-attend events! *** We are also delighted to announce that UKMW will be followed in the evening, also at the Sackler, by the Jodi Awards 2009, with this year's awards being presented by Martha Lane Fox. *** Want to take the open mic? *** We will be announcing the programme of speakers very soon. However there will be an 'open mic' session in the day for informal presentations from the floor. Contact us if think you might like to take the mic or get involved in some other way: [log in to unmask] *** A new MCG *** The day will also include the MCG AGM, and we'll be asking members to vote on some important changes to the constitution that have come out of our 'MCG@25' consultation process - changes that will have a big impact on how the group is run in the future. *** Sponsor UKMW *** The MCG is volunteer-run community of practice committed to running high-quality affordable events for the sector. (UKMW09 registration is just £15 for members, unwaged and full-time students; and £40 for non-members.) Its events rely therefore upon the generous support of its sponsors. We are grateful to the many companies and institutions in the past that have benefited from the visibility we can offer at UKMW - attended by over 100 delegates each year. If you organisation would like to join us at the Sackler in making UKMW09 and the Jodi Awards 2009 a success, then please contact MCG Chair, Ross Parry [log in to unmask] Looking forward to welcoming you all to UKMW09 Tag this event with #ukmw09 From UKMW09 Organising Committee **************************************************************** For mcg information visit the mcg website at http://www.museumscomputergroup.org.uk To manage your subscription to this email list visit http://www.museumscomputergroup.org.uk/email.shtml ****************************************************************
