** * * * * Dear all, * * *Volunteering opportunity at the Jodi Mattes Trust * * * The Jodi Mattes Trust are the organisers of the annual Jodi Awards ( www.jodiawards.org.uk) <http://www.jodiawards.org.uk%29/>. These prestigious annual awards are won by museums, libraries, archives and arts and heritage organisations for best use of digital media in the service of access for disabled people. The *Jodi Awards 2009* will be given by Martha Lane Fox, the UK’s Digital Inclusion Champion, on 2 December at the Victoria and Albert Museum. This year we’re pleased to be launching a new International Award. To ensure the 2009 event is a success, we are looking for a Volunteer*Events Assistant * who can contribute a couple of days work towards this year’s Awards, starting at the end of October. Your main responsibilities will be to manage the attendance list, provide information, and on the night, prepare badges and setting up a Welcome/information table at the event Event. As Volunteer* Events Assistant*, you will gain valuable experience in events management and in making events accessible to disabled people. You will meet experts in accessible digital media and people whose projects inspire tomorrow’s good practice. You will receive an employer’s reference from us.
