Introduction to the Carbon Trust Standard 20 October 2009 - Abertay University, Dundee Would you like to be recognised as a leading organisation for carbon reduction in the UK or reduce the cost of compliance under the CRC? The EAUC and Carbon Trust have organised a free half day workshop to find out how to become certified with the Carbon Trust Standard. If you are due to participate in the Carbon Reduction Commitment, the Carbon Trust standard can help you take early action and increase your position in the first year of the CRC League Table. For those institutions that have signed up for the Universities and Colleges Climate Commitment for Scotland (Ucccfs), this event may be of interest to help with calculating your carbon baseline. AIM: The event will outline the benefits of the scheme as well as provide the opportunity to run through the carbon foot printing spreadsheet and find out what the assessors are looking for, as well as hear from others who have already taken part. The current portfolio of achievers who have undertaken this scheme showcases an impressive saving of 600,000 tonnes of CO2 over the past year and a £50million reduction in energy spend. This has been achieved through the hard work of individuals like you and they are now enjoying the recognition they deserve.
