Call for papers Special Issue of Critical Social Policy on Social Justice, Social Policy, and the Environment In the era of global climate change, the environmental implications of social policy are increasingly visible and have led to the development of environmentalist critiques of social welfare. In response, we are planning to produce a special issue of Critical Social Policy. The special issue will critically discuss environmental issues in relation to social welfare and social policy. It will explore how environmental themes might connect to and/or challenge existing traditions of critical work on social policy, including how they relate to inequalities such as those of class, ‘race’, and gender. Within this topic area, we will consider theoretical articles, articles on contemporary social policies and social movements, and commentaries on current political topics. Abstracts should be 250-300 words and should be submitted by 1st November 2009 to Rachel Aldred: [log in to unmask] We plan to notify authors whether their abstract has been accepted by 1st February 2010. All subsequently submitted articles would be subject to full peer review.
