*apologies for cross-posting* Dear Colleagues, The ARLIS Student and Trainees Committee would like to announce the following workshop: "An Introduction to Art & Design Reference Resources" to be held on Monday 9 November 2009, 10.00am - 4.30pm. This popular course is essential for anyone new to the world of art librarianship and those interested in updating their skills in art and design enquiry work. The event takes place in the prestigious surrounds of the National Art Library at the V&A, the major public reference library for art enquiries. The course will consist of key presentations from art librarians involved in the provision of enquiry services in the museum/gallery and academic sectors and this year we have invited Eithne Barry and Laurence Patterson from Edinburgh Napier University to talk about their Virtual Enquiry service. Practical sessions will enable delegates to put what they have learnt to immediate use. To book a place please download and complete the booking form (from http://www.arlis.org.uk/) and return to Lorraine Blackman (ARLIS Business Manager) no later than the 26th of October. ----------------- Jennie-Claire Perry ARLIS Student & Trainees Committee For up to date information on forthcoming workshops and free visits please see the online ARLIS/UK & Ireland Events Calendar 2009 at http://www.arlis.org.uk/
