Fundraising
from individuals
Date: Thursday
1st
October
2009
Time: 09:45
– 16:30
Venue: MLA
London, 4th Floor, 53-56 Great Sutton Street, London EC1V 0DG
The current economic climate
might well deter us from trying to fundraise from individual donors but right
now there is an excellent opportunity to build strong relationships with
individuals that will help to stabilise and augment your fundraising strategy
through the good times and the bad. Your organisation’s long term sustainability
is intrinsically linked with the people who are interested and invested in your
work; and whilst you may not see the immediate fiscal benefit, the
relationships you begin building now will ultimately reap the greatest benefits
in the long term.
This one day course has been
designed to provide you with information and ideas on raising funds from
individual donors. It will involve practical exercises to explore how and why
individuals give financial support to cultural heritage organisations; and what
steps you can take to encourage individual gift giving in the current climate.
By the end of the day you will:
·
Have an understanding of the support available to lever funding
from individuals;
·
Know why and how to build long-term relationships with individuals;
·
Understand how to fit individual giving into your organisations
planning;
·
Have the confidence to ensure the lessons learned make a real
difference back at your organisation
Areas covered during the day:
·
Individual giving and the funding mix
·
Planning a campaign involving individual giving
·
Building a network of supporters
·
