Apologies for cross-posting -

I've at last been given some details of what has so far been my highly
secret World Tour of England, Ireland and Scotland (organised by the
Australian Poetry Centre), and hope some of you can come to some of
these... Some dates are with my co-tourer, the poet Robert Gray, and
I'm not privy to what else he is doing - but he's round and about as
well, and worth hearing.

And there's possibly also a reading in Hull. But possibly not.

7pm reading with two leading Scottish Poets (Richard Price & Raymond
Friel) now living in England at the Poetry Club, Glasgow School of
Art, 167 Renfrew Street

Richard Price was born in 1966 and grew up in Renfrewshire. His
collections include the Whitbread shortlisted Lucky Day, Greenfields,
and, will launched in Scotland with this reading, Rays (all three
collections published by Carcanet). His short story collection A Boy
in Summer (2003) will shortly be followed up by the suspenseful novel
The Island. He is seen as both an avant-garde and lyrical writer, a
love poet and a poet of family and memory. He is Head of Modern
British Collections at the British Library, London.
Raymond Friel was born in Greenock in 1963. After graduating from
Glasgow University he moved to England and qualified as a teacher. His
poems have been widely published in reviews and magazines. His
collections include Seeing the River (1995) and Stations of the Heart
(2008). He co-edited the review Southfields and ran Southfields Press
for a number of years. He lives with his wife and three sons in
Somerset. He is the headteacher of a secondary school.
