As a result of a generous grant from the Wellcome Trust, the Society is seeking a part‐time qualified Archivist to create an online catalogue of one of these collections, the correspondence of its founder, Sir James Edward Smith (1759‐1828). The collection consists of ca. 3,800 letters, most of which are housed in 26 bound volumes. The online catalogue will be the first step in providing better access to this collection, prior to conservation and digitisation. Candidates should have a first degree, a recognised postgraduate archive qualification and experience of cataloguing to ISAD(G) standards using CALM software.
