Starting salary £26,985 per annum, incl. LWA
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual for an interesting and varied post based in the ISLS Governance and Compliance team. Reporting to the University Records Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and promotion of policies and procedures to ensure that the University meets the requirements of Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation. You will also collaborate with University colleagues to help ensure a consistent approach in some areas of copyright and intellectual property rights.
Assisting with an accurate response to requests received under the legislation you will also deliver formal guidance, training and support across the University. Excellent verbal and communication skills will therefore be needed, with the ability and enthusiasm to convey the legal framework to non-specialists at all levels across the institution. You will need an understanding of the key principles and requirements of DPA and FOI legislation and ideally some experience in the application of this legislation within an HE context. An awareness of copyright and IPR issues will also be looked for.
