Courses begin on Monday 21 September. * Electronic Records Management (15 weeks) This course looks at the issues presented by electronic records and their management taking into account the unique properties of e-records and the issues they create for record keepers. The course also examines the integration of ERM into other records and information management projects within your organisation and where to start when trying to cope with electronic information and records. * Strategic Management for Information Professionals (15 weeks) This course examines the key challenges faced by information professionals in management roles. The course looks at managing people, money and services from a legal, ethical, practical and theoretical perspective. It is of particular value to those professionals who find themselves in management roles with no formal training. * Complying with Information Legislation: Principles and Practice (15 weeks) Information legislation raises a number of issues for information professionals. Many record keeping posts now require applicants to have a knowledge of the operation and requirements of this legislation. This course examines the origins, requirements and implications of the Data Protection Act, the Freedom of Information Acts and the Environmental Information Regulations and equips information professionals with the expertise and skills to manage the impact of this legislation appropriately.
