Reminder: Invitation to Planets Training and Outreach event ‘Digital Preservation – The Planets Way’ 16-18 September, Arena di Serdica Hotel, Sofia, Bulgaria.

Does your organisation know what to preserve digitally for the future? Do you want to discuss your strategies for digital preservation with colleagues and experts? Do you know how to preserve your collections for the future? Do you know which tools and services to use for this? The volume of digital content that organisations intend to store is expected to rise twenty-fold over the next ten years; is your institution prepared for this?

Join us at our second ‘Digital Preservation – the Planets Way’ event to discover more about the Planets tools and services that could help you to preserve vital digital information for the future. Learn about strategies that could be put in place at your company or institution and discuss ideas of best-practice with experts and colleagues from across Europe.

Digital Preservation – The Planets Way’ will bring together leading researchers to demonstrate the sustainable framework and technology which will enable archives, libraries and other large collection holders to approach digital preservation.

Delegates will have the unique opportunity to experiment with the suite of Planets tools and services before they are made available to the public and will be set a challenge to preserve a sample collection.

The event will also have a special regional focus and will include presentations from two institutions in Southern and Eastern Europe.
