Hello All, There was an article of interest in the New Scientist of 25 July (No. 2718) about the quality of health information on the Internet. It refers to several studies on on-line health information, and specifically Wikipedia, which gets good marks for what is there but does less well for potential flaws in the editing process, and incompleteness. The full article can be viewed here: http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20327185.500-should-you-trust-health-advice-from-the-web.html Part of the article is on reliable sources of information where it talks about a new resource called Medpedia, "written and vetted by medical professionals [at] several prominent medical schools and organisations". It includes a knowledge base, health professionals network/directory, and blogs/debates on medical topics. It sounds interesting, but I've no idea what it is like as our web-filter won't let me access it! Hopefully IT will resolve that soon.
